Here are some practices and tips:
1. Attitude First!
We can get telemarketers with past experiences and more knowledgeable of the job.
Most of us is looking for those type of candidates. But, remember, you can always
train skills. Would you prefer demanding telemarketers that will say
I know how to that and do this or those telemarketers who can
really deliver valid leads?
2. Confidence
If they have the fire, the eagerness and strong will, They probably can
but if they think they can not then they most certainly won't.
A positive attitude matters most. But do not be mistaken about Confidence
and Arrogance. You need to determine that in their voice.
Have a great judgement. We need to look back to number 1.
3. Tone of Voice
You need to hear them live on how do they sound? That is exactly what we do
during initial interviews even though they have their recordings prior to
the screening. We make sure that they are conversant. Are they sound friendly,
or can we imagine if they are smiling while communicating, do they
have a neutral accent? those should be in our lists. There are more impact
in the tone of voice rather than words. So better to check first on
how they sounded talking on the phone.
4. Communication Skills
Communication with Rapport and Empathy will surely build trust to your
customers. Keen listening and pitch of voice matters when talking to someone.
The caller should build those things while communicating to engaged
with leads properly. This is to make sure of a high chance of value sales or
else it would be a hang up or a do not call disposition leads.
5. Motivation
It is not all about money, however it is one of the achievement that
sales people are looking for. But there are some just proud of being
praised and be noted on the good calls. Either way, there should always to be
some drive to push your telemarketer especially those doing cold calling to
some achievement or goal. They need to know they are worthy of the job and
push them to work harder to achieve the goal and be a goal-oriented person.
6. Mock Calls
It is one of the practices we do to telemarketers during training. We do role
plays before deploying them to the job. We need to know how they will react with
objections and deal with rejections. They won't go far and circle-back the client's
interest if they do not know how to handle such situations.
7. Cost-Effective Investment
A U.S.-based telemarketing service with native callers may charges by the hour has an average cost
between $10 and $75 per hour. An offshore telemarketing service that charges by
the hour has an average cost between $12 and $20 per hour. A telemarketing service
may charges by the lead has an average cost between $35 and $60 per lead.
An average human resources outsourcing company will charge anywhere from
$50-$1500 per month. Naturally, this price is based on how many employees you
have and how many services you need. So choose an outsourcing company wisely
that fits your budget and requirements.
